The GP is in charge of making an initial medical assessment, establishing a doctor-patient relationship of trust that allows him to guide the patient in the best possible way, knowing all his circumstances and assessing his situation globally.
General medicine or family medicine also performs important preventive work through regular check-ups and general medical check-ups.
Furthermore, the GP is in charge of coordinating the medical attention and treatments by the rest of the specialists, taking into account the overall situation of the patient.
